About Us

Mary Mary Lee Freeman, a Seattle native, graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. She currently resides in Long Beach with her husband of 21 years and her two teenage daughters. In addition to her love and commitment to Family and Urban Aerial Fitness, Mary serves on the board of Rick Rackers, an auxiliary of The Assistance League of Long Beach, which clothes 10,000 Long Beach K-12 students with backpacks, uniforms and school supplies each year. She will serve as Chairman of Rick Rackers for the 2014-2015 school year.

An avid athlete, Mary has competed in numerous running races, including marathon and half-marathon distances, triathlon and once competed in Camp Pendleton’s World Famous Mud Run. Still something was missing. Mary found her way into a pole fitness class and knew immediately that she had found the missing link. “Finding a fitness avenue that includes strength, flexibility and artistry was my saving grace!” Through this passion, Mary also found Aerial Arts classes that included Silks, Hoop and Hammock and fell in love.

“As Co-founder and Co-owner of Urban Aerial Fitness, I’m so proud we have built a beautiful, safe and nurturing environment for teens and adults to experience and train in the Aerial Arts. We have clients that range in age from 13 years to 68 years! We have new Moms who are looking to get back into shape. We have people who haven’t worked out in years coming in for flexibility. We have rock climbers, triathletes, distance runners, yoga enthusiasts, dancers, volleyball players, cheerleaders, gymnasts coming in for aerial classes and the list goes on!

I want to inspire people to think beyond what seems impossible, to push past their limitations. The human body is capable of great things. Today is a great day to push aside that little voice of doubt and say “I can do this!”

Natalie HamiltonNatalie Hamilton graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.

She has been a resident of Fountain Valley for 15 years, has been married for 23 years and has three children, one of whom has autism. When she’s not teaching pole dance, she is an active member of the PTA and a mentor to parents who have children newly diagnosed with autism.

Natalie has a passion for helping women discover their inner beauty. “I started pole dancing over 7 years ago. I had been a stay-at-home mom for years and was feeling out of touch with myself. One day I saw a TV show about “stepping outside of your box” as a way to recharge your life. Pole dancing was as far out of my box as I could possibly go!
I signed up the next week for a pole dance class and I’ve been hooked ever since. The classes became a much-needed way to escape from the outside world – a place where I could focus only on myself and recharge my batteries. For a few hours a week, I didn’t worry about my kids, cleaning my house, cooking dinner, doing laundry, driving carpool, homework or any other mom duties. My only concerns were music and movement and reclaiming my feminine energy.

Pole dancing has changed my life in so many ways. Not only has it taken my body to a level of fitness that over a decade in the gym couldn’t do, it has given me the confidence to embrace, empower and nurture my feminine sensuality. It has also helped me love my body, cellulite, imperfections and all. Pole dancing gives me the mental strength to take on the world when I leave the studio. It also makes me a better wife and mother. I’ve learned that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
